I need to access to a self signed website on my Mac OS, but i could not find the button that says “I accept the risk and I would like to proceed”. After looking the web for answers I found out that you need to type “thisisunsafe” on the same screen and press enter.

However there is another way to fix this, which is to install the cert on your system which is not that hard.

  1. All you need to do is copy and past the your cert into a text file and rename the extension to .pem

2. After you did that open the open file by double clicking on the file or using the mac Key chain.

3. Once you opened it might ask you where you want this which in my case I selected the option login, to install it to for the current user.

4. After that find the cert that you just imported.

Hint: It should be under certificates tab

5. Once you found the cert double click on the same and expand the trust section.

6. For web or chrome select the SSL and X.509 Basic policy and change the option to always trust.
